Aroids If you want the definitive refernce book on tropical plants this is it. Not a ton of text to read but an extensive book of color plates of tropicals from all Families. It is really pricey but the latest release of this book can be found at Barnes and Noble for under $200 ( ISBN )

Asclepiadaceae By: Focke Albers, Ulrich Meve

Asclepiads This is a great resource for all Asclepiads. It has formal descriptions of each speices. You must be familiar with scientific nomenclature to get the full value from this book. I hoghly recommend it if your are interested in the origin as well as identification of all Asclepiads. ( ISBN 3-540-41964-0)

Blooming Bromeliads By: Ulrich Baensch

Bromeliads This is a great book if your are interested in Bromeliads. It is the best reference I have seen on this subject. 1000 full color photos and written by someone who grows them. The problem is that it is no longer published in English so finding it may be difficult. ( ISBN 0-9641056-0-8)

Bromeliads, The Colorful House Plants By: Jack Kramer

Bromeliads This book provides information for 150 species in 27 genera, including a compehensive chart of Bromeliads plus 31 detailed line drawings and 18 glorious color photos. That's what it says on the dust jacket. Seriously, this book was published in 1965 and is a great small book on Bromeliads. Hard to find now though. ( ISBN )

Tillandsia By: Paul T Isley III

Bromeliads If you are into Tillandsias, you must have this book. Beautiful pictures as well as a wealth of information. I highly recommend this book. It really got me started in Epiphytes. ( ISBN 0-9617675-0-2)

Ferns A very well written book worth a great deal of information on ferns and fern allies. This one has a number of photos and is also very informaytive and complete in it's treatment of the Fern Tribe. ( ISBN 0-88192-054-1)

Fern Grower's Manual By: Barbara Joe Hoshizaki and Robbin C Moran

Ferns This is the best resource for Ferns. It is not full of photos but is very complete in it's description of all the different Genus of ferns and fern allies. I highly recommend this to those of you looking to grow ferns. ( ISBN 0-88192-495-4)
